Chuck Shorter counts down the Top 40 songs from years gone by every Saturday morning at 10a

My name is Rob and I produce and host the podcast in NE Wisconsin where we have a thriving local music scene. In a matter of about a dozen years, the scene here went from being largely cover bands to a plethora of artists of a wide variety of genres putting out exceptional original music. The annual Mile of Music Festival (mileofmusic.com) has played a big part in this happening. About 90% of the guests on Into The Music are from this local scene, however I have interviewed artists from all over and have had the good fortune to have some higher profile guests like producer/engineer Terry Manning (Led Zeppelin, ZZ Top, Otis Redding), Eddie Angel of Los Straitjackets, The Surfaris, and jazz pianist/vocalist Champian Fulton.
The Into The Music Podcast is brought to you by the Timothy Paul Band and Riverside Recording Studios in Berlin, NH- find out more at www.timothypaulsr.com

Hi, John & S-j here.
We are children of the 60’s and our fascination with vinyl began as toddlers, John’s records were a gift from an aunt complete with a record player and S-J’s were either her dad’s, gran’s or from a box of ex jukebox records that appeared on a regular basis. With a simpler way of life back then, records, radio dj’s, tv shows and family party events were the main sources of music which were devoured and bolstered with Smash Hits, Record Mirror, Top of the Pops and taping the Chart show on a Sunday, (a lost art!)!
John continued spinning the discs and started DJing from 12 years old, while S-j carried on loving music, making mix tapes, dancing her feet off at discos and clubs and ‘educating’ friends and then sons.
For both of us, music has always been a huge part of our lives. Apart from having a mobile DJ business and John’s 30 year long pub music quizzes, we’ve broadcast shows on many stations, hospital charity radio and helped out with community events.
Finding true love late in life (now recently married), our shared love of music was instantly realized, mutually agreeing that we enjoyed everything but with the exceptions of German opera, very complicated Jazz, Thrash Metal, D&B, modern R&B and most chart music beyond the 90’s! We love our going to local concerts and taking our record collection on the road to pubs, clubs, events & festivals.
